Around this time last year, Joy & I were in the thick of planning the second ever Detroit Podcast Festival, and times felt so different then than they do now. See our response to recent police brutality and COVID-19 here.
So much has happened in the year, including our founder, Joy Mohammed’s decision to transition out of her role as Co-Director. This year, Joy’s focus is shifting more toward family, her full time work and law school. Look out for #lawyerbae! I am honored she has trusted me with her baby, and I cannot wait to make her proud with this year’s programming.
And on that note...
I present to you our very first Detroit Podcast Conference, an extended weekend of workshops, panels and mixers to level up your podcasting and storytelling chops. This one is for the media makers. And in consideration for everyone’s health and wellness, you can attend this conference from your couch -- we’re playing it safe and keeping it virtual.
So save the date, mark your calendar and tell that homie you talk to regularly so neither of y’all double book:
In addition to this primary weekend of programming, there will be events leading up to and adjacent to the conference to build momentum and further connection. Join our email list to stay in the loop, and take a moment to share what you’d like to see at the conference this fall by June 30.
We are thinking of you, grieving and adjusting with you. And we can't wait to catch a vibe with you again soon.
